Mountain Monday Feature: Gannett Peak

Happy Monday, the best day of the week! I hope your weekend was as filled with adventure as ours was! This week, we are taking you on a trip out to Wyoming - to Gannett Peak!

Gannett Peak is the tallest mountain in the state, topping out just above 13,800ft. It is located in the west, central part of the state and is part of the Wind River Range. This mountain is named after famous photographer, Henry Gannett.

Gannett Peak has less of a climbing history, because of its isolation and extreme temperatures. It is considered by many to be among the toughest mountains to climb in the USA. The first recorded summit did not occur until 1922.
